The idea
Sighișoara Citadel becomes one single experience
For three days, the Citadel has no separate tables. It has one trail.
Gastronomica takes cooking out of the restaurant and sets it down on the streets of the Citadel. Every partner venue becomes a stop, every stop has a dish and a wine, and the walk between them passes towers, stairways and walls hundreds of years old.
This is not a market with stalls in a square. It is a town you walk with a passport in hand, at your own pace, from Friday to Sunday.

Every evening has its own music, chosen to match the day: from medieval sets to the Philharmonic and, at the end, live music in the Citadel.

One ticket, four steps and a Citadel to walk. The rest is up to you.

Choose your ticket
A pass for one day or for the whole weekend. Friday and Sunday have four stops each, Saturday has eight.

The first step is at Wanderer. This is where you collect your passport — the key to the whole GASTRONOMICA experience.

Walk the trail
The partner restaurants, at your own pace. There is no fixed time and no set order — you walk the trail however it suits you.

Starters, main courses and desserts in tasting portions, each with the wine that goes with it.
At every venue, the sommeliers guide you through the pairings between dishes and wines, and through the stories of the partner wineries.

What is worth knowing

Access to every stop on the day you choose, the dishes in tasting portions, the wine paired with each of them, and the cooking demonstrations. The producers’ market and the music are open to everyone.

No. The passport gives you access to every restaurant without a booking, in the order you choose, within the serving hours of the day.

You build the trail at your own pace and decide how much time to give it, within the serving hours of the day.

Under-18s and anyone who does not drink wine receive a non-alcoholic drink as part of the experience.

Yes. Children can take part alongside an accompanying adult, who can buy their ticket and is responsible for them throughout. Alcohol is not served to anyone under 18. If no ticket is bought for the child, dishes can be ordered separately à la carte, at extra cost.

The festival goes ahead. Restaurants can move the experience indoors, and outdoor activities may be relocated, delayed, rescheduled or, if the weather makes them impossible, cancelled.

There is no dedicated vegetarian or vegan menu, but details of every dish, including allergens, will be available in the restaurants.
